The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show, organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is the largest exhibition of its kind in the region and one of the most prominent international exhibitions in water, energy, electricity, environment, oil, gas, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability. WETEX and Dubai Solar Show is held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. Over the past years, the exhibition has played a pioneering role as a platform to develop partnerships and make deals between international companies and their local counterparts in the electricity, water, energy, and environment sectors.

Topics and seminars
The 23rd WETEX and Dubai Solar Show will be held from 5 to 7 October 2021 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo 2020 Dubai. It will address important topics on rapid changes and challenges in the energy, water and environment sectors in addition to exploring best practices and green solutions to counter environmental challenges. It also presents the latest solutions in oil, gas, and environmental sustainability such as green buildings.
The exhibition underlines the close connection between sustainability and the Fourth Industrial Revolution applications as well as the impact of disruptive technologies, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, R&D on producing clean energy and water. The exhibition will include a large number of specialised seminars and workshops that discuss the latest technologies and solutions in the oil and gas sector in addition to clean and renewable energy.
Success and development
Since its launch in 1999, WETEX has been upscaled in terms of the scope of exhibitors, visitors, and topics. In the beginning, it only addressed water management and conservation solutions. Later, it expanded to include energy, environment, waste management, green buildings, reducing carbon emissions, oil and gas, renewable energy, smart grids, and fossil fuel activities.
